Springtime in the Rockies

Springtime in Grand Lake is commonly known as 'mud season'.   The dozens of feet of snow that have fallen throughout the year melt and run off into the Colorado River basin - where it begins its journey southwest, watering golf courses and yards, filling swimming pools, and providing drinking water for the large cities in the southwest.  But as that snow melts, wildflowers begin to bloom.  Wildlife begins to wake up from hibernation, the trails begin to clear, and Grand Lake takes on its summer life.   Summer in Grand Lake is incredible.   The lakes open up to boaters, the rivers to fisherman, the trails to hikers.   Soon, Trail Ridge Road will open to provide travel through Rocky Mountain National Park.  The downtown shops will be filled with tourists and locals alike.   Restaurants will continue to get busy.    The horses will be stabled up, ready for trail rides.   With clear blue skies, cool nights, and a brief afternoon shower to clear the air, summer in the Rockies is hard to beat.

Take advantage of the opportunity and enjoy your stay at Soda Springs Ranch.   You'll be happy you did.
